Obituary for Manuel "Al" Allen Raby
Manuel Allen “Al” Raby, age 72, died late Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at his home in Fenwick. He was born August 15, 1947 in Greenville, the son of Manuel L. and Harva Lou (Christensen) Raby. On July 7, 1977, he married Barbara Ann Thompson. Barb preceded Al in death on May 7, 2016. Al worked for Greenville Tool and Die for several years before beginning his career at General Motors, where he worked for many years. He loved his family, and was a wonderful, caring husband, father, and grandfather. In addition to Barb, Al was also preceded in death by his father, Manuel Raby. He is survived by his daughters, Veronica Haring of Carson City and Alison (Ryan) Day of Alma; grandchildren, Kaelan, Chloe, Keegan, and Kylie; mother, Harva Lou Raby of Orleans; former son-in-law, Bill Haring of Palo; siblings, Rhonda (Gerald) Wall of Stanton, Mike (Cindy) Raby of Oklahoma, Sandra (Robert) Surdam of Greenville, Art (Kathy) Raby of Orleans, and Marylee (Thomas) Snyder of Zephyrhills, FL; Barb’s siblings, Ginger Bond of Palm Bay, FL and Donald (Carol) Thompson of Grand Haven; and many other relatives and friends. Memorial services will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, September 26, 2019 at Shiloh Community Church, with visitation from 1:00 to 2:00 pm prior to the service. Pastor Ken Harger will serve as officiant. Memorial contributions may be given to Shiloh Community Church or to the family.
